911...Hello? Hello?

Still working on the To Do list.  Was a bit over my head the past couple days, but then again, if you shoot for the moon and miss, at least you land among the stars, right? Sure hope so!  The gym is becoming my friend again though, so that is awesome, 2 days down... I'm on a roll! I will be hitting it in a bit again, late, unfortunately.

Yesterday proved productive, albeit annoying. Everything is what we make of it though. Last night consisted of a City Hall meeting with hundreds of others, mostly Police & Fire people.  The redeeming part was that our friend Stacie, Police wife, went with us... and she shares my love of banter during such occasions, so we had, almost, a good time. Otherwise, total waste.  Basically got to hear the town crazys and some others confront the counsel.  Things like, "Do away with the Illegals" (uhm, so not on topic), "Save the Arts!", "No tax on Renters", "You guys suck!" (okay my paraphrase), and finally a few people that put some awesome thoughts together.  My highlights were:

Random citizen woman, probably in 30's, to support fire & police stated she feels job or pay cuts should not happen. Because, although she has not needed them, on the day she does call 911, she wants them to show up happy to be at work that day! LOL, love it! Apparently she sees that morale is already low.  Then the best guy, actually a former council member who had not been back to a meeting since he retired (or lost) 14 years ago. He rocked... he called the council on the carpet, took them to the mats. The lady in front of us said, "He wasn't this good when he was on the council!" LOL, isn't that always the case??

Maybe in 14 years the others will be that good too... probably not. We have one major ally on there, and God bless him.  So, end story, looks like police get furlough days, and what do fire get?? Pay cuts, awesome. We can thank that to the Fire Chief, and to the Fire Union rep who got up and said, "Thank you for the manageable pay cuts." I kid you not... and on that note, my pulse is back up, so I must go talk to Jesus! :)

What Mark would do with a furlough day... instead he gets to work and get less pay. Sorry babe!!
